Passchendaele and the First World War

£2.50 per person (incl. tea/coffee)July 2017 marks the centenary of the Battle of Passchendaele, an event made infamous by the mud and slaughter faced by troops on both sides during the First World War. After three months of fighting, causalities numbered 325,000 for the Allies and 260,000 for the Germans. The huge loss of life for limited gains continues to make this major battle controversial today. Why did the battle take place? How was it fought? What was the reality on the ground? The Open Mic UK music competition is coming to Manchester on; Sunday 20th August at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester
The Open Mic UK music competition is a chance for aspiring singers and musicians to perform to music industry judges who are at every stage of the music competition, from the auditions to the national Grand Final. Judges in the past include representatives from the three major record labels (Universal, Warner and Sony), as well as festival organisers, national radio DJs, regional press and BBC Introducing, with judges getting more prestigious as the competition progresses.

More Than Words Third Annual Summer Fair

Details: More Than Words is a community interest company based in Wigan. We provide a service giving people with disabilities the chance to engage in a number of daytime activities such as drama, dance, music, art and sport. We are holding our third annual summer fair to help raise funds for our service and give more young adults the chance to express themselves and build confidence through the arts.
Last years event was a huge success and we expect this years fair to be even bigger and better with something for everyone.

This year we will have both indoor and outdoor stalls including:
