Start date: January 12, 2018

End date: January 21, 2018

Time: various

Location: St Michael's Parish Hall, Shaw Street, Swinley, Wigan WN1 2BQ

CHRISTMAS TIME IS PANTO TIME

“Cinderella” written & directed by Ian D Field
at St Michael’s Parish Hall, Shaw Street, Swinley, Wigan WN1 2BQ

Friday 12th January to Sunday 21st January 2018
Evenings 7.30pm (Fri, Wed, Thur, Fri & 2nd Sat)
Matinees 2.00pm (both Saturdays & Sundays)

In our 71st Season we are pleased to present another fun filled and original family pantomime, with a delightful mix of slapstick, silly jokes, songs and romance in our truly magical production of “Cinderella”.

Not only are we 70yrs old but this year marks the 60th anniversary of our very first Panto – yes – and it was “Cinderella” – so we are pulling out all the stops to celebrate in style in January with a new original version! Fabulous script! Fabulous cast! Fabulous Costumes!

We invite you to come and join us and pay a visit to that splendid topsy-turvy world where men are women, women are men, where the present is embraced with the past, where people are hit but not hurt, where authority is constantly flouted, where magic abounds and where dreams invariably do come true!

Cinderella is possibly the most popular of all pantomimes – so come and meet some old and some new characters here at St Michael’s Parish Hall, Shaw Street, Swinley, Wigan WN1 2BQ this January.

If you’ve not been to a St Michael’s Panto before – then you’re missing out. Ask our regulars! Please note that our tickets are priced to ensure you enjoy a great show at great value for money!!

There are nine performances to choose from so we are sure that you can find one to suit you:

Little Red and the Big Bad Wolf

Date: February 11, 2018

Time: 2pm

Location: The Citadel Waterloo Street St Helens WA10 1PX

Presented by Unity Theatre and Action Transport Theatre

A small figure sets off, with red cloak and hood
to grandmas they go, the other side of the woods

Do not stop to smell the flowers, or sing to the birds
or climb a tall tree, remember these words…

Do not leave the path, for you’d make a tasty treat!
For the hungriest wolf of all, who is ready to eat!

Join us for a bold and highly theatrical re-telling of the well-known classic tale packed with music, dance and song.

The production explores the thrill of adventure and unknown versus the safety and familiarity of the path and how irresistible straying can be, as well as the tension between mankind and nature. Are the wolves really the villains in a world where the woodcutter is destroying the forest? And is Grandma the trophy hunter really sick?

“Perfectly formed… recaptures the art of sharing folktales by the fireside” – The Stage

Doors: 2:00pm

On stage: 2:30pm

£7/£5
